The Department of Homeland Security says it is sending rapid deployment teams across the country to protect national monuments and statues ahead of the July Fourth weekend, amid calls for the removal of Confederate statues. Meanwhile, the president is threatening to veto a major defense bill over an amendment to rename some military bases.
