Actor and pro-Tibet activist Richard Gere on Tuesday testified to the U.S. Senate that Chinese censorship on industries, such as information and entertainment, acts as a non-tariff barrier to trade. Gere is the chairman of the International Campaign for Tibet and has long advocated for better treatment by China of ethnic minorities in the restive region.
