How to ensure racialized employees don’t feel tokenized in the workplace
As protests continue around the world against anti-Black racism, companies are looking for more effective ways to create true diversity in the workplace. However, a major problem known as “tokenism” arises when the main goal is to only hit a certain quota in hiring, without creating equal opportunities for everyone. Global News spoke with individuals who experienced tokenism first-hand in the workplace.
