New Brunswick premier plans to scrap controversial Bill 49

Premier Blaine Higgs said the shooting of Rodney Levi last Friday had changed his mind about proceeding with the controversial bill that would have given the police more powers under the emergency measures act. Higgs went on to say that now is the time for meaningful discussions to address the real issues that “maybe have not have been dealt with for generations.”
