Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Chief Allan Adam of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation said that “to get harassed because of your race ends today.” This remark came after Chief Adam described his own instance of alleged police brutality by the RCMP in Fort McMurray, Alta. None of the allegations have been proven in a court of law.
