George Floyd death: Obama calls for police reforms, says protests are opportunity to tackle social injustices

Former U.S. President Barack Obama called for police reforms on Wednesday during a virtual town hall, calling on mayors across the country to review police policies with their communities and commit to reforms. He also addressed ongoing protests in response to the death of George Floyd, a Black man who died in police custody on Memorial Day, saying this was a time to enact change in the country and the urgency for change has been communicated through the demonstrations.
