Coronavirus outbreak: Toronto mayor calls for federal funding to assist Canadian cities amid pandemic

As the coronavirus pandemic continues causing economic hardship in Canadian cities, Toronto Mayor John Tory on Thursday called for federal funding assistance for Toronto and other cities across the country, a need he said was “cataloged in detail by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.” Tory called for at least $10 billion in emergency federal operating funding in 2020.
