As the coronavirus pandemic continues causing economic hardship in Canadian cities, Toronto Mayor John Tory on Thursday called for federal funding assistance for Toronto and other cities across the country, a need he said was “cataloged in detail by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.” Tory called for at least $10 billion in emergency federal operating funding in 2020.
