Virtual House of Commons descends into chaos after Conservative MP accuses ‘fringe left’ Elizabeth May of wanting to ‘destroy’ Canada’s oil industry

During a virtual sitting of the House of Commons on Thursday, Conservative MP Rosemarie Falk accused Green Party MP Elizabeth May and “the fringe left” of wanting to “destroy” Canada’s oil and gas sector after May said on Wednesday the Canadian oil industry is “dead,” and that the government should be investing in renewable energy when it comes time to restarting the economy.
