Asked about a rising number of reports of anti-Chinese racism in Canada following the outbreak of COVID-19, some specifically directed at the chief public health officer of Canada, Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrysita Freeland said Monday that such sentiment has no place in today’s Canada and that “a Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian.”
