Speaking to reporters on Friday, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Bill Blair said the new gun control measures being announced by the federal government were not intended to harm the vast majority of legal gun owners in Canada, whom Blair said he knew from his years in law enforcement were by-and-large law abiding citizens and responsible firearms owners.
