On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said that Republican Senator Mitch McConnell’s idea for states to declare bankruptcy rather than receive economic bailouts is not only unethical, but it sends a signal to international markets that the U.S. is in “real trouble.” Cuomo said if McConnell pushes for a bill allowing for states to do so, and it comes law, New York would not be partaking.
