Coronavirus outbreak: COVID-19 pandemic in New York likely linked to travelers arriving from Europe

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Friday said that by the time the U.S. instated a travel ban from China, the “horse had already left the barn,” meaning the novel coronavirus had already spread worldwide, and the virus in the state likely came from the strain in Europe after around 13,000 flights from Europe landed in New York and New Jersey.
