Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau slammed recent reports of anti-Asian violence, saying that “intolerance and racism have no place in our country.” While he didn’t mention names, when asked about Conservative leadership candidate and MP Derek Sloan calling for chief medical officer Dr. Theresa Tam to be fired, Trudeau said all Canadians expect “every politician” to respect the importance of being a welcoming country.
