The city of San Francisco opened a new COVID-19 testing site on Friday, as part of California’s efforts to boost testing capacity ahead of any potential reopening of the economy. The site features a screening section to double-check that drivers coming in have appointments, and a swab section for medical personnel to conduct the nasal swab tests. The new site comes after California Governor Gavin Newsom announced a framework which would guide his decisions on how to reopen the economy, which has been shuttered in California and across the nation as a result of the novel coronavirus.
