Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland delivered an emotional message to elderly Canadians during a COVID-19 update on Friday, saying that Canadians “are doing everything in our power to keep you safe.” She added that although physical distancing can be hard, it is done to stop the virus from spreading to vulnerable individuals.
