Coronavirus outbreak: Quebec ready for COVID-19 ‘peak’ with 6,000 hospital beds

Quebec premier François Legault said on Wednesday that the province is ready for the COVID-19 peak infection rates, as it has freed up 6,000 beds in hospitals across the province for patients requiring hospitalization, adding that they don’t think they will need that number of beds during the peak period. Legault also said it’s reassuring that Quebec has not many hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID-19, compared with other provinces in Canada and some U.S. states.
