Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the hospitalization system has only 3,000 ventilators now, but the need is at 30,000, which he said is the greatest challenge for his government in this situation.
Cuomo said they’ve purchased 7,000 ventilators and are still ordering more. The federal government has sent 4,000 and are studying the option of splitting ventilators between two patients.
