Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Theresa Tam said on Wednesday that as more countries are reporting shortages on ventilators, the country had purchased some at the federal level to preempt the need. She added they recognize the global challenge in securing supplies, and said they expect to be able to meet about 75 per cent of the anticipated demandfor personal protective supplies.
