Answering NDP leader Jagmeet Singh during Question Period on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Christia Freeland said the government will help Canadians who may not be able to work because of illness or quarantine.
She added that the government will reduce the employment insurance (EI) waiting period from two weeks to one week for coronavirus patients, and is committed to extending EI benefits to 26 weeks.
