Ontario’s chief medical officer of health, Dr. David Williams, outlined the phases the province has for a potential pandemic, which starts with containment, followed by increased surveillance and then mitigation. He added compared to SARS, they have a better understanding of the virus in terms of testing which helps in preparation for a possible outbreak.
