COVID-19: Brazil confirms first case in country, says will watch for how virus acts in ‘tropical country’

Brazil’s health minister Luiz Henrique Mandetta said on Wednesday that they had confirmed the first case case of the COVID-19 virus in the country, diagnosing a 61-year-old man in Sao Paulo who returned from Italy recently. He added they would be watching to see how the virus acted in a “tropical country,” compared to the northern hemisphere where a large majority of cases were.
