Julian Assange’s father speaks outside his son’s extradition hearing

A London court began hearings on Monday to decide whether Wikileaks founder Julian Assange should be extradited to the United States where he is wanted over charges that he conspired to hack U.S. government computers and violated espionage law. Speaking outside the UK court on Monday ahead of the hearing, Assange’s father John Shipton said the extradition was politically motivated and warned his case could lead to criminalising other journalistic activities.
