Toronto immigration lawyer Raoul Boulakia is calling for an independent panel with the power to investigate refugee judges. The Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) says this panel is not necessary, and that it’s in the board’s interest to discipline judges. The IRB also says it takes allegations of wrongdoing seriously and that judges can be removed from their positions if misconduct is serious enough.
