Scheer says he’s ‘happy’ with decision to step down as leader, will run as MP in next election

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer said on Saturday he was “happy” with his decision to step down as leader, saying he was able to play a three hour game of Monopoly with his children on Friday as one benefit, but added he would run again to be MP for his riding of Regina-Qu’Appelle in the next election. He said that his decision regarding the leadership surrounded wanting more time with his family, but said he would serve if needed in cabinet or as speaker or another role if the new leader asks him to.
