Lecce: It’s ‘high-time’ for teachers to consider a mediated settlement

Elementary school teachers hit the picket lines in the Toronto and Ottawa regions today as their union kicked off a week of rotating one-day strikes, shutting down schools in three boards. Speaking to reporters Monday, Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce said he believes it’s “high-time” for the unions representing the province’s teachers to consider a mediated settlement.
