Elementary school teachers hit the picket lines in the Toronto and Ottawa regions today as their union kicked off a week of rotating one-day strikes, shutting down schools in three boards. Speaking to reporters Monday, Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce said his government wants to see the strike end because any job action involving teachers “hurts kids.”
