Winnipeg police say they don’t identify gun type early on due to its relevance to investigation

Winnipeg Police Const. Rob Carver said Monday they wouldn’t release the type of gun used in a recent homicide as they typically don’t early in the investigation as it is information critical to the investigation. He also spoke about gun laws and alleged a large number of handguns seized are in possession of people with no legal right to own them and a national handgun ban would not make “any difference.”
