On Thursday, the Chilean Air Force said that it was “practically impossible” for there to be any survivors of a plane crash that occurred on Monday. Arturo Merino of the Chilean Air Force stated that after finding human remains and aircraft debris, it was unlikely that any of the 38 passengers survived. The aircraft was heading to a base in Antarctica before disappearing shortly after taking flight on Monday from Punta Arenas.
