China’s new ambassador to Canada, Cong Peiwu, reiterated the country’s call for Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou to be released by Canada, saying it would help take the relationship between the two countries go back to normal. He also claimed Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor’s rights have been “fully guaranteed” and have been granted consular visits.
