Winnipeg MP Jim Carr, who was recently appointed as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s special representative for the prairies, told reporters in Ottawa on Thursday that “it is in Canada’s interest for there to be a strong prairie,” as he hopes to bring the voice of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba to future meetings.
