Author’s research tells of 17,000 Jewish Canadian soldiers in WW II

Remembrance Day has passed and we still must remember them.
It’s part of the message from journalist, researcher and author Ellin Bessner. She tells the story of members of the Canadian Jewish community who stepped into battle for a country that didn’t always support or even welcome them. They faced threats beyond that of warfare alone in the efforts to defeat Hitler. Now Bessner’s research means the Jewish Canadians who the Canadian military uniform will see their efforts acknowledged in print and by Veterans Affairs Canada as well.
