Man who admitted to murdering and dismembering fiance sentenced to life without chance of parole for 17 years
Nick Fontanelli, the man who pleaded guilty last week to the second degree murder of his girlfriend has been sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole for 17 years. Samantha Higgins, 22, went missing in 2015. Her dismembered body was found in the rural community of Hinchinbrooke a few days after her disappearance. As Global’s Phil Carpenter explains, Higgins’ family read heart wrenching statements in court before the sentence was rendered.
