OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma could file for bankruptcy as early as today: sources

Purdue Pharma, the maker of opioid OxyContin, reached a tentative deal Wednesday over its role in the nation’s opioid crisis. Sources say that Stamford, Connecticut-based Purdue will pay up to $12 billion over time and that the Sackler family will give up control of the company.
