Paul Plant carries the baton, and a canoe, in Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope
Avid canoeists Paul Plant and Karen Hoffman knew the Walk of Hope meant more than awareness for people diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. It meant dollars for programs and research in an effort to up the survival rate of the disease, which currently stands at less than 50%.
Diagnosis is a challenge, and as Paul explains, in the case of his wife Karen, often happens too late to beat the odds. Karen Hoffman, 61, lost her battle with ovarian cancer in July, 3-and-a-half years after her diagnosis . She continues to be an inspiration for the Walk of Hope efforts in Peterborough on Sunday, Sept. 8th.
