On Aug. 8, Canadian Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction Bill Blair said that guns are dangerous in the hands of people likely to commit violent crimes, but also in those who are mentally ill and can harm themselves. He added that guns are “deadly,” especially in urban centres, such as Toronto.
