Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was questioned by NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh during Question Period Tuesday about the involvement of Liberal MP Joe Peschisolido’s law firm in facilitating a secretive “bare trust” real estate deal in 2011 involving a convicted drug trafficker and alleged kingpin of the Mainland China-based crime cartel the Big Circle Boys, Kwok Chung Tam. Tam has denied any involvement in organized crime and gangs. His lawyer says claims of organized crime have never been proven in court. Peschisolido has denied any knowledge of the case and says lawyers at his former firm operated independently.
