Those who are HIV positive may still be required under Canadian law to disclose their status to a partner if there’s a chance the virus could be transmitted. Failing to do so may end in a charge of aggravated sexual assault. But there are those who want the law to change, arguing that the Canadian Criminal Code hasn’t caught up to current medical practices.
