Northumberland County has released its second homelessness report.
It shows the region is in a worsening, vulnerable state. Meaghan Macdonald from Habitat for Humanity, says the housing crisis in the region is nothing new, but more people are now taking notice.
Part of the problem is attributed to this year’s closure of transition house – an emergency shelter.
Housing affordability also continues to be an issue, especially since more people are moving in from the GTA.
