In Virginia, Democrat Jennifer Wexton has been elected to the U. S. House of Representatives. Wexton defeated incumbent Republican Barbara Comstock. It is the first time in nearly four decades that Republicans have lost control of the seat in northern Virginia. Wexton is an attorney and has been in the State Senate since 2014.
