Steve Paul, a private inspector who had inspected the duck boat less than a year prior to its capsizing in Missouri on Friday, said there were known design flaws with the vehicle, including its exhaust. He also said with the canopy and windows up, the vehicle also became a “people trapper” and called for a standard for amphibious vehicles.
