‘Concern for us was the safety of our kids’: Penticton neighbours who bought million dollar home to block drug treatment centre speak out

A group of residents in the south Okanagan banded together to purchase a million-dollar property in an effort to block a drug treatment centre that was supposed to open this weekend.

The operator says the failure of the deal is a clear example of the stigma around drug use, but neighbours claim they had no other option– as they didn’t want a recovery centre near their kids.
