Despite efforts to stem the deadly toll of drug overdoses, the trend in the Okanagan this year is disturbing. There were 50 fatal overdoses in the Okanagan In the first four months of 2017 compared to 76 in all of 2016. Interior Health and other agencies have been working to reach out to drug users at the street level, but I.H.A. says it’s much harder to reach drug users who are not street involved.
