Life is cheap: Maritimes cycling safety advocates call for stiffer penalties for drivers who hit cyclists

With the one-metre law, also known as “Ellen’s Law,” in effect in New Brunswick, drivers must keep a distance from cyclists when passing them on the street. But cyclists in the province and across the Maritimes say current laws are still not enough to prevent incidents involving vehicles and cyclists. Shelley Steeves takes a look at what they say still needs to be done.
