Tue, Feb 28: The Calgary Humane Society calls it precedent-setting. On Tuesday, a Calgary man received the stiffest sentence possible under the Animal Protection Act for causing distress to animals. It’s the first time that’s happened in Calgary. As David Boushy reports, a near-record seizure of animals in December 2015 led to the sentence.
