Hospital visits for mental health illness by children, youth ‘a growing problem’

Hospital visits, including emergency room visits and in-patient hospitalizations, by children and youth with mental health illness has increased by more than 50 per cent since 2009, said Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk. She also noted there are no reasons yet to why this is “a growing problem.”
