Danielle Smith, who was the leader of the opposition when Jim Prentice was premier of Alberta, spoke to Global news about the passing of her former friend and colleague. Smith said she met Prentice in the early 90s, spoke about his career and called his death “an awful loss.” She went on to say Prentice was looking forward to being a grandfather and spending time with family. He was 60.
