Sun, Aug 28: Filmmaker Mani Amar is well known for exploring the issues surrounding gangs and guns in Surrey. Now he’s working with the family of Maple Batalia — to document the young woman’s life and death on film. He tells our Nadia Stewart why he feels so compelled to focus his lens on her murder and the issue of domestic violence.
