The $1.2 billion expansion project of the 407 is nearly ready to open. The newest section runs 23 kilometres east-west and 10 kilometres north-south and includes a much needed interchange with the 401 between Whitby and Oshawa. It will be free for drivers to use for the first few months. Mark McAllister has the details.
