Farrah Khan, the Sexual Violence Support and Education Coordinator at Ryerson University, said she hopes the Jian Ghomeshi scandal and resulting trial will prompt more discussion and action about how best to address sexual violence and support victims of sexual assault after the not guilty verdict and subsequent peace bond signing has resulted in a “crisis of confidence” in the Canadian criminal justice system.
