The Ottawa shootings began when Zehaf-Bibeau shot and killed Cpl. Nathan Cirillo at the National War Memorial on the morning Oct. 22, 2014. He then stormed Centre Block where he was shot and killed near the Library of Parliament in a confrontation with Kevin Vickers, the sergeant-at-arms, and other officers.
